Hey y’all, it’s Ali!
One of my absolute favorite parts of this job is meeting you—couples, families, and new friends—and getting to know your stories. It’s such a gift to be invited into these special seasons of life. But I also love sharing a little of my own story with you so that you feel a little more comfortable with me as well, so here’s some fun facts about us and Foothill Frames!
A Little About Us
I married my college sweetheart, Josh, after we met in the Chicago suburbs. It was the best decision I’ve ever made, and every year gets better and better! We tied the knot a year after he finished his master’s degree in mathematics, and soon after, we moved down to South Carolina. We love it here and have had so much fun building a new life together!
We’re big believers that we don’t just vacation—we travel. From hiking mountain trails to tasting new foods around the globe, we love immersing ourselves in new places. (Fun fact: for our honeymoon in Europe, we lived out of one suitcase for almost two months!)
Family & The Everyday
I’m a proud sister—she’s my favorite person to talk about life with. I also gained three bonus sisters and two brothers-in-law through Josh, who make life extra sweet. And one of my favorite family relations is being “Auntie Ali” to my three nephews! Watching them grow has been so much fun, and they are my little inspirations for all of my maternity, newborn, milestone, or family sessions. I love them all!
At home, you’ll find me editing, calling and planning with clients, and cooking. I’m the type who makes almost everything from scratch—sauces, peanut butter, milks! It is another part of my creative side that I absolutely love. We also started our first outdoor vegetable garden this year, which has been such a fun project. So if you love to cook, eat, or travel—we’re instant friends already.
And of course, I can’t forget our two dogs, the life of the party. Grizzly (a goofy Bernese Mountain Dog) and Shiloh (our sweet Pyrenees mix). They keep us laughing constantly and are basically the mascots of our little family. Grizzly is usually everyone’s favorite, but then when you meet them, it a lot of times ends up being Shiloh!
Favorite Adventures
We love not being home! Exploring is one of our passions. Whether it’s going somewhere new, eating somewhere new, or talking with someone who went somewhere we knew: we think travel is good for the soul. Some of my favorite travel memories include:
- Every part of Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland
- Floating in the Dead Sea
- Hiking around Mont Blanc and Zermatt
- Exploring the north side of Iceland
- Seeing rainforest frogs in Costa Rica
- The beauty of Moraine Lake in Canada
- Every second of island life in Paros, Greece
It’s nearly impossible to pick favorites, and I want to hear all about yours!!
Where I Am Now
2026 will mark year four as a professional photographer and videographer! Sometimes I still can’t believe how quickly it all began—from the moment I picked up my first camera to the honor of documenting countless weddings, families, and stories since. I love every second. And it keeps me so excited thinking about all the families and couples we are yet to meet!
